Harry O

Harry Orwell (David Janssen) was unlike most other TV private eyes. He owned a car, but rode the bus; couldn't run well because of a bullet lodged in his back; didn't really need to work, and didn't always charge money when he did (can you imagine Jim Rockford doing that?). He was a "part-time investigator and a full-time human being" whose adventures were a quirky combination of mystery and whimsy, sparked by marvelous performances and award-winning writing.

Hello, Does anyone know where the location for Harry's house and the pier was done? Is it malibu or Santa Monica? were the houses just sets and pulled down? does anyone have any photos of the area? Also, were Harry & Sue Ingram lovers or just friends? and was there a reason for the change in motor mechanics? Thank you.

Linda Evans and 'Harry O'. Before she became Internationally famous, (outside the USA)as Krystal Carrington. Linda Eevans appeared in various episodes, of various US (1970s)TV series. Amoung them a early series/season episode of ''Harry O'',when he 'lived'in San Deigo. And two episodes of ''The Rockford Files''. Some film/Tv celebrities, who later become in/famous, do not always like to disclose what they were, did before they were such.

I have a story to share. More than 20 years ago I attended a poetry reading..not because I love poetry..I don't..but because the readers were Rosco Lee Browne and Anthony Zerbe. So there I was...listening to those two beautiful voices...and totally buzzed on a cocktail of medication for bronchitis. And while I didn't exactly have an epiphany...still...something came through. Anyway...I attended the meet and greet afterwards...and bravely walked up to Mr. Zerbe (I was a fan) and said...I have no idea what...but the meds must have made it good because he simply ENFOLDED me in his arms. He then brought me over and presented me to Mr. Browne...and again...the meds took over...because what ever I said made Mr. Browne take my hand and kiss it.

Wouldn't you know...all that eloquence...and to this day I can't remember a danged word of it. Still...I do remember getting hugged by Anthony Zerbe.

Hello: Who do we harangue to get this series released on DVD?

Margaret Keller - 08:19am Apr 10, 2007 PST(#57 of 58)

Apparently Warner Brothers owns the rights to 'Harry O.' I recently sent them a note by email asking about the show's availability on dvd. The other day I got a response from someone who said "We don't have plans to release this show on dvd at this time." Her email address is Melissa.Hufjay@warnerbros.com. I figured I'd post this info in case anyone wants to send pleas to change WB's plans regarding 'Harry O.' Maybe if they got messages from a lot of people asking that the show be put out on dvd, they'd see there is a market for this item. Or maybe I'm a silly optimist.
