Jean Hager's WEIGH DEAD Serving up crime at a charming B&B | |||||||
Teacher and author of numerous novels, including three mystery series, Jean Hager grew up in Pawnee, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University. She earned an English degree and a teaching certificate from the University of Central Oklahoma. After teaching for several years, Jean Hager took time off to raise her three children. When they were old enough to attend school, she started to write in the young-adult and romantic-suspense markets. During the late '80s, Hager started writing what she'd always wanted: a traditional mystery with a Cherokee background. (Hager is 1/16 Cherokee.) That book, Grandfather Medicine, launched her career as an award- winning mystery writer.
