Based on Peter Maas’s book about the true-life exploits of New York cop Frank Serpico. In the 70s, Serpico is an young undercover cop with an unusual trait–he refuses to be on the “take.” His testimony in front of a grand jury investigating police corruption does not endear him to his co-workers. As the movie tagline said: “Many of his fellow officers consider him the most dangerous man alive–an honest cop.”
